Upcoming workshops

Audio recording techniques for acoustic musicians

High quality acoustic recording can be achieved in many different ways, including traditional studio methods and more innovative, hi-tech solutions, like multi-track recording microphone arrays. During this seminar we explore different techniques for audio recording, and we discuss topics such as, types of recording microphones and their usage, different recording techniques, necessary equipment, acoustics of rehearsal spaces, and innovative technologies. By discussing various options and tools, we want to help bluegrass artists learn to capture their passion and creativity, to catch the moment of chemistry between musicians and record a great sounding demo.

Workshop on 3D/360 Music Production and Sound Design using Spherical Microphone Arrays

This workshop is addressed to all who wish to capture a 3D full-sphere audio scene for the purpose of music or ambient sound production. Especially, this workshop will focus on usage of spherical microphone arrays to record entire 3D sound scenes with only one microphone, and then separate the individual sound sources from the recording in post-production.

Spatial Audio-Video Creations for Music, Virtual Reality and 3D Projectors – Case Studies
The goal of the workshop is to present spatial audio-video creations in practice. Professional audio engineers and musicians will talk about their 360, 3D and ambient productions combining the sound and the vision. Among discussed projects there are going to be “Unraveled”—360 spatial experience where the listener finds themselves in the middle of the entire recording. Furthermore, the speakers will tell about the process of making 3D audiovisual footage displayed in the 360° dome as well as spatial recordings of the concert music. The workshop will focus especially on the usage of spherical microphone arrays which enable to record entire 3D sound scene. The separation of individual sound sources in post-production and Ambisonics give creators unlimited

possibilities to achieve unique audio effects.
