Metallica's Lars Ulrich Reveals 'Realistic' Timescalefor New Album -

On Friday, new broke of Metallica's plans to begin work on a newalbum in September. The recently record would mark the tenth studioouting for the thrash metal godfathers. 

However drummer Lars Ulrich has now said that a 'realistic' datefor the band's new album to be released is sometime in early2014.

Ulrich was being interview on Vancouver based radio station 99.3The Fox when he revealed Metallica's timescale for their nextalbum.

"I wouldn't use the word close", said Ulrich (via MetalTalk).

"I mean, obviously, in the context of, say, the age of planetEarth, we're pretty close. But in the context of, say, otherthings, there may be one or two football seasons, or one or twobaseball seasons, or one or two hockey seasons... We've gotta dothis movie, and we're gonna get back to writing when we've donethis movie."

He continued,

"I would say late 2013 or early 2014. It's difficult to imagine. Ithink even late '13 may be a bit optimistic. I would say hopefullywe can realistically get a record out probably about a year andhalf from now, so maybe early '14."
