Japanese Distillery to Release Limited Edition Whiskeyto Celebrate 50th Anniversary of the Rolling Stones -

As the Rolling Stones approach their 50th anniversary, and asrumours of a possible anniversary tour still loom, a Japanesebeverage manufacturer has announced a limited-edition blendedwhiskey to mark the milestone event, reportsUltimateClassicRock

The Suntory Group, which was established in 1899 and is based inOsaka, will release the limited edition whiskey on October 30th.There will be only be 150 bottles available at the recommendedretail price of 500,000 yen (£4,500).

There will be a variety of blends available, with eachrepresenting significant years in the Rolling Stones' storiedhistory. For example, the 1962 Yamazaki is in memory of the yearthe band formed, and the 1971 Yamazaki represents the year theStones' adopted their logo. Other whiskeys to be included in theblend are the Hakushu malt and Chita grain ones from 1990, when theStones made their first trip to Japan.

The beverage will be available in a unique bottle shaped in theband's iconic tongue and lips logo.
