Beach Boys Reunion Comes to a Close in More Ways ThanOne -

The Beach Boys 50th anniversary tour will cometo a close this week after the surf-rock veterans final date atLondon's Wembley Arena.

Unfortunately for fans, and some members of the band,Mike Love, who still legally controls theBeach Boys name, has now issued a statementannouncing he has kicked out the band's remaining members, including Wilson. However, he (Love) also states that he and theband will continue to tour with remaining member BrianJohnson along with a new backing band.

It read:

"As we move on, Bruce and I look forward to performing livefor Beach Boys fans everywhere," Mr. Love said in a statement. Hewent on to say: "The 50th Reunion Tour was designed to be a settour with a beginning and an end to mark a special 50-yearmilestone for the band."

Meanwhile, Brian Wilson told CNN:

"I'm disappointed and can't understand why he doesn'twant to tour with Al, David, and me. We are out there having somuch fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys."

An online petition taking a stand against the decision has nowbeen launched in order "to preserve the validity of the BeachBoys as a whole, and not as a money-saving, stripped-downversion." It has amassed over 4,000 signatures as of now.
