Wilko Johnson Announces Farewell Tour Dates -

Dr.Feelgood founding member WilkoJohnson has announced details of four farewell concerts tobe held in the UK during March 2013. 

The announcement follows last week's news that Johnson hascancer of the pancreas and had chosen to not recievechemotherapy.

His manager Robert Hoy said of the farewell dates:

"This is an opportunity for Wilko to express his sincerethanks to his fans for all their support over his longcareer."

Johnson's choppy guitar sound and outré strumming technique becamesomewhat of a trademark for the Essex rhythm & blues outfit andthey've been credited by many as one of the founding influences ofthe British punk movement.

Dr. Feelgood are best known for their high energylive performances. Their studio albums 'Down by theJetty' (1974) and'Malpractice' (1975) proved incrediblypopular. In 1976, their live album,'Stupidity' reached No.1 in the OfficialUK Album Chart. When the band released their fourth album,'Sneakin' Suspicion' (1977), Johnson quitthe band to pursue a solo career.
