The Waterboys Announce US Dates -
The Waterboys are to head out on a North America'coast-to-coast' tour marking the band's first full US tour since2007.
The newly announced tour is set to kick off in Boston on Sept.19and finish up in Massachusetts the following month on Oct.24, witheight shows scheduled and further additional dates to be announcedsoon.
The band's chief songwriter and founder, MikeScott has promised the tour will be "the longestWaterboys American tour ever."
Scott will be joined on the North American jaunt by longtimeWaterboys fiddler Steve Wickham and a new batch of"hand-picked" bandmates, who are: Jay Barclay (guitar),Malcolm Gold (bass), Daniel Mintseris (keyboards)and Chris Benelli (drums).
On Facebook, Scott wrote:
"North America is just about my favorite place in the worldto play and I'm thrilled that this year we'll play more concertsthere than any year of the Waterboys' existence. Our fall 2013 touris the longest Waterboys American tour ever and we're doing it withan American line-up. Apart from myself and fiddler Steve Wickham,all the band members are Americans based in the New York area,players I handpicked myself. I can't wait to see what kind of ajoyful, wild noise we'll make."
