Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble and Green Day are to to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2015.

SRV is quite rightly the people's choice after amassing more than 18 million votes, that's 5 million more than the next nominee, in the fan ballot.

Other inductees include Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Lou Reed and Bill Withers whilst drummer Ringo Starr enters the Award for Musical Excellence.

"As we mark 30 years of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions, we're proud to honour these artists," said Rock and Roll Hall of Fame President Joel Peresman.

"These inductees epitomize rock and roll's impact over the past 50 years and counting through today."

The 30th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction goes ahead on April 18 at Cleveland's Public Hall.
