Texas Blues-Rock Legend Tommy Shannon Joins the Markbass Family -

Tommy Shannon, known as the bassist for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Arc Angels and Storyville, has joined the Markbass family as an endorsing artist.

Tommy discovered Markbass on a gig and fell in love with the sound right away. "Markbass gives me that big, full sound that I'm used to, with the portability that I need," he says. His rig of choice is a CMD 102P combo with a Traveler 102P extension cabinet.

Tommy played with Johnny Winter at the Woodstock festival in 1969 before connecting with Stevie Ray Vaughan and forming the Double Trouble rhythm section. Through the 1980s, they became one of the biggest blues bands ever, until tragedy struck and Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed in a helicopter crash in 1990. Tommy went on to perform as a member of Arc Angels and Storyville, and also released a star-studded Double Trouble album with Willie Nelson, Dr. John, Jimmie Vaughan, Eric Johnson, Susan Tedeschi, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Reese Wynans.

Tommy has also performed with Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Little Richard, Hubert Sumlin, Mike McCready, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Lou Gramm and John Mayer.
