Tascam, the brand synonymous with professional recording products, has released the VL-S5 active studio monitor speaker.

(PRESS RELEASE): As the successor of Tascam’s popular range of high-quality studio monitors, this latest monitor is ideal for home studios and works seamlessly with audio interfaces such as TASCAM’s own US-2×2 and US-4×4. Ideal to monitor sounds from your computer, multi-track recorder or portable music player, this versatile monitor offers high-resolution monitoring for any environment.

vl-s5_p_leftFeaturing a high-strength Kevlar 5 ¼-inch low frequency bass unit and a 1-inch silk dome high frequency tweeter, the VL-S5 monitor offers ample power thanks to the powerful bi-amped design. Each driver is driven by its own discrete amplifier, with 30 W available for the tweeter and 40 W for the bass unit. To remove unwanted phase distortion in the critical 1-2 kHz range, where vocals and guitars are most prevalent, the crossover has been set at 3.2 kHz to ensure that seamless response is achieved.

The compact yet powerful design of the VL-S5 is perfect for any environment, and the magnetically shielded design allows it to be placed near personal computers and video monitors without impairing performance – an ideal solution for those short on space.

With XLR and TRS balanced inputs available, users can connect the VL-S5 to a wealth of professional audio products whilst eliminating any external noise caused by other components in the signal chain such as the electrical supply to audio components, room lighting or other sources.

For reliable mix playback at an affordable price, the VL-S5 studio monitor is an ideal solution for any home studio.
