(PRESS RELEASE): Rotosound’s Tru Bass RS88LD Black Nylon Strings have been re-engineered using an innovative new manufacturing process and are now better than ever. A new computer controlled engineering process at their UK based factory, combined with Rotosound’s skilled craftsmen gives greater precision in production and improved quality of finish. The result is a bass string that is wonderful to the touch and produces a deep warm double bass like tone. This is the nearest you’ll get to a upright double bass sound played on an electric bass guitar.

Originally designed back in 1962 to make an electric bass sound like a double bass, the Tru Bass RS88LD Black Nylon Strings have been used over the decades by some of the best bass players in the business on some of the greatest recordings. Paul McCartney used Tru Bass RS88’s when recording what many critics view as the best Beatles album, Abbey Road. This album is still their best selling one, being 12 times platinum in the USA. Herbie Flowers, bass player extraordinaire, used them when playing the famous bass line of the late great Lou Reed’s, Walk On The Wild Side and on the Ivor Novello Award winning Space Oddity by David Bowie. These strings can also be heard as Graham Maby leads a bass charge on Joe Jackson’s biggest UK hit It’s Different For Girls and playing Bruce Foxton’s ultra catchy bass line in the seminal ‘mod’ song A Town Called Malice by The Jam.

The new productions methods developed by Jason How, Rotosound CEO and chief engineer, have taken the original concept and moved it up several steps to give the strings optimal playability and long life with out compromising sound. The superior coating protects the strings from perspiration, dirt, humidity and acid hands, delivering extra playing life and ensures your fingers move smoothly and dexterously across them. The unique sounds achieved range from the thump of an upright bass through to the more focused depth of traditional strings. They are designed by experts to give a deep warm tone loved by bassists for over 50 years.

The new Tru Bass RS88LD strings are available in 4 and 5 string sets and non-standard scale lengths.
