Rolling Stones Have no Plans to Play Glastonbury or Retire AnyTime Soon -

The Rolling Stones have quashed any talk of them retiring orperforming their first headline slot at Glastonbury nextyear.

UK tabloid the Sunday Mirror reported at the weekend that the rock icons wereplanning to bow out on a high with a slot at the UK's biggest musicfestival. However, it has since been reported by the Guardian that there is no truth in the claims and, despiteeveryone's wishes, the band have not been approached to perform atthe 2013 edition.

Glastonbury's press office has shed some light on the rumours andhas revealed that the 'Stones to play Glastonbury' mutterings arenothing new, as they are one of the few bands to never perform atthe festival. However, up until today there has been nocommunication between Glasto organizers and The Stonespeople.

A spokesman said:

"Everybody in the year off thinks they've come up with the perfectGlastonbury lineup. But at the moment there isn't anything toconfirm or deny."
