(PRESS RELEASE): Cole Clark Guitars, available from Zed Music Distribution based in Sevenoaks, Kent, is very excited to announce that a limited run of African mahogany timber guitars have been released and are now available in the UK.

“Cole Clark offers many beautiful timbers in their vast range, however, the latest mahogany guitars are something very special. Cole Clark has found only a few stray mahogany trees and so it is truly a limited run and the resulting guitars are extraordinary,” remarks Chris Mariani, Sales Director, Zed Music Distribution.

The African khaya mahogany is a genus of seven species of trees in the mahogany family, Meliaceae, native to tropical Africa.  In 2014 one of the company’s fine wood specialists found the trees in one of the plantations from which our Queensland maple is sourced. These particular trees were planted around 1920 in northern Queensland. Both the Queensland maple and khaya mahogany from this plantation are sustainable, fitting to the Cole Clark ethos whereby they are taking sustainability to new levels in the acoustic guitar industry.

Real African mahogany, such as khaya, creates a stunningly unique tone. African mahogany sits between bunya and blackwood, with respect to stiffness, and has a bright sound with more sparkle than we were expecting.  It produces a beautifully balanced acoustic tone and a phenomenal amplified sound, with killer looks.

Cole Clark has two limited edition models, the Fat Lady Dreadnought (FL2EC-MMAH) and the Angel Grand Auditorium (AN2EC-MMAH), with only 90 to be made available. This is a superb opportunity for 90 people to own a very special, limited edition Cole Clark guitar.

Of course, and as always with Cole Clark, this latest run of mahogany guitars come with the renowned patented Cole Clark pickup, providing the most natural amplified sound available. The guitars are cutaway, through neck Spanish Heel with a satin Nitro finish and gold plated Grover machine heads; Abalone snow flake inlays; Graphtech saddle, nut and bridge pins, D’Addario EXP NY steel long life strings and supplied in a Gator luggage-style hard case.
