On the 27th September 1986, Metallica bassistCliff Burton was tragically crushed todeath after the band's tour bus hit a patch of black ice andcrashed whilst travelling between Stockholm and Copenhagen during aEuropean tour. 

Yesterday marked the 26th anniversary of the foundingMetallica bassist and the band posted a photo ofCliff along with details of a free download recorded in 1984:

"While you're remembering Cliff on the 26th anniversary of hispassing, give a listen to this free download from the 'Ride theLightning' tour."

The download was recorded on November 22nd, 1984 at Le Riff inToulouse, France and is available here. It features the following tracks:
