Stoner-rock veterans the Meat Puppets arescheduled to release their 14th full-length studio album inApril.

However fans of the Kirkwood brothers can now stream the firsttrack from the forthcoming 12-track release, entitled 'RatFarm,' below.

The album will be the Phoenix outfit's fourth outing sincewelcoming bassist and founder Cris Kirkwood backinto the in 2007.

Curt Kirkwood, the band's singer/guitaristdescribed the album as "real blown-up folk music".

He elaborated:

"I tried to write stuff that would stand on its own - just thechords and the melodies, and play it kind of straight... I thinkthat was the guiding boundary that I gave myself. It was one ofthose things where a lot of times, in the past especially, [bassistCris Kirkwood] would go, 'Well, that's all there is? Let's put aprog rock part in the middle.' But I tried to hold it off as muchas I could."

'Rat Farm' will be released on 16th April in theUK and 17th in the US through Megaforce Records.
