Matrix Announce Release of GT1500FXBD -

Matrix Amplification is pleased to announce the release of theGT1500FXBD, the first of two 3 channel amplifiers designed with thehelp of French amp-guru Bruno Durand.

The GT1500FXBD is a 3 channel amplifier delivering 500W perchannel at 4 ohms with the same voicing as the flagship GT1000FXamplifiers, weighing only 3.8kg and all in a 19" 1U format.*

When asked why they have decided to put out a 3 channel amp,Andy Hunt told us:

"Multi-channel guitar power amplifiers have been requested fora number of years but in the past we have been too heavy, bulky andexpensive to build because of the added tubes and transformersneeded. This drives up the weight, form factor and cost.Multi-channel solid state amplifiers are commonplace now, thistechnology coupled with our innovations in solid state technologymeans that with the advent of modern modelling pre-amps with theirflexibility in routing options the GT1500 can give guitarists theultimate in flexibility and sound in a lightweight yet powerfulamplifier."

The obvious benefit of a 3 channel amp is when you want to run 3cabs in a wet/dry/wet setup. This unit allows a signal split to 3cabs with the middle cab dry (with no effects) while the other 2cabs are fed with stereo effects. This gives the clarity of the drysignal and the ability to dial in the effects to taste providingwhat most guitarists feel is a huge sound that isn't mushy.Professional players have been using this type of setup for manyyears but it has always been out of reach of a lot of players dueto the weight of extra amps and extra cabs not to mention theexpense of extra gear.

Having 3 channels also gives you the ability to run a stereo rigas normal for yourself and an extra channel for monitoring, eitherfor yourself or another member of the band. Or you could set up a2.1 type rig with a sub and 2 satellite speakers.Multi-instrumentalists or players wanting to take advantage ofmulti-preamp sources can be catered for. Even the guy in the bandthat just plays on the one song can use a channel without having tofetch along another car load of gear!

The Matrix 1500FXBD will fit just about any playing situationyou may need from your rig, like the ultimate power amplifier forguitarists. It will open new possibilities, uncovered by theclassic stereo power amps, this all in an amplifier with three 500wchannels, weighing 3.8kg and a 1U form factor.

The Matrix GT1500FXBD is available now at £890* inclusive of VATin the UK, or $1150* within the USA. For other countries pleasecheck online or contact Matrix for a quote.
