Joe Satriani's "Shockwave Supernova" has earned him his highest US chart position.

Satriani's fifteenth studio album landed on the Billboard 200 Album Chart at No.19 beating his 1992 release "The Extremist", his previous best, which entered the chart at No.22 when released over 20 years ago.

But "Shockwave Supernova" is actually a twin Billboard success charting also on the Billboard Rock Chart at No.2, making the instrumental rock album the highest charting on Billboard's Top 200 in the Soundscan era.

Recorded last year at Skywalker Sound in Lucas Valley, the album was also co-produced by John Cuniberti.
