Hartley Peavey to Receive Historic Mississippi BluesTrail Marker -

Mississippi to Honour Hartley Peavey with Historic Blues TrailMarker on January 17, 2013

Mississippi will honour Hartley Peavey-founder and CEO of PeaveyElectronics-with a marker on the Historic Mississippi Blues Trailon January 17, 2013. The marker recognizes Hartley Peavey'scontribution to Mississippi's blues heritage and is the only markerrepresenting a manufacturer.

The Mississippi Blues Trail, created by the Mississippi BluesCommission, is a project to place interpretive markers at the mostnotable historical sites related to the growth of the bluesthroughout the state of Mississippi. The trail extends from theborder of Louisiana in southern Mississippi and winds its way toMemphis, Tennessee. Mississippi has spawned more legendary bluesartists than all other Southern States combined. This is especiallytrue for the Mississippi Delta, which was home to such artists asSon House, Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Muddy Waters, SkipJames, Bukka White, John Lee Hooker, and B. B. King.

The marker unveiling ceremony is scheduled for 3:30pm at PeaveyHeadquarters located at 5022 Hartley Peavey Drive in Meridian,Mississippi, and a reception sponsored by Peavey Electronics willfollow. Both events are open to the public.
