Fender & Edison Nation Challenges Investors toDesign the Next Generation Guitar & Bass Cases -
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation has announce theirpartnership with EdisonNation.com, an innovation platform used bycreative people to bring new ideas to market, to challengeinventors from all over the world to develop the next generationguitar and bass case.
While Fender instruments have evolved a lot over the past 60years, their cases and packaging have for the most part stayed thesame. Today, Fender is turning to the Edison Nation community tofind innovative advancements in how to transport and protect thesemusical instruments.
Edison Nation works with global inventors to get theirinnovations in front of retailers and manufacturers, to store andperfect their ingenious ideas, keep up with inventive friends, andlearn what it takes to create and introduce a successful productinto the market.
Fender is hoping to find new, consumer-focused innovations inguitar and bass cases and packaging that reflect the Fender brandand the musician carrying it. Inventors have been asked to considernew shapes, designs, handles, latches and materials to packageand/or carry these instruments.
"Fender has a long history of designing and creatinginnovative products and we continue to look for opportunities toexpand on this foundation," said Keith Chapman, senior vicepresident, Research & Development at Fender.
"Working with Edison Nation allows us to further our openinnovation program and benefit from a large community of talenteddesigners and inventors."
Licensed ideas will receive a $2,500 minimum advance on 20 yearspercentage of sales or buyout. Edison Nation splits the licensingroyalties 50/50 on the products that are selected. Royalties varybased upon the product, and are in line with current industryrates.
Each idea costs $25 to submit. Edison Nation Insider memberssubmit ideas for $20 each with the ability to submit them intoother searches for free.
