ESP Announces New Limited Edition Kirk Hammett Sparkle Ouija Guitars in LTD and ESP Versions

ESP Guitars has announced the immediate availability of two new limited edition Kirk Hammett Sparkle Ouija guitars. The two new models are available now under the company’s LTD brand in Red Sparkle and Purple Sparkle finishes. Additionally, ESP announced the upcoming availability of the Red Sparkle and Purple Sparkle Ouija guitars from the ESP Custom Shop, which will be delivered in 2020.

“Kirk Hammett approached ESP in 1990 to create a custom guitar with the graphics from the Ouija® mystical board game,” says Matt Masciandaro, ESP president and CEO. “That first one-off custom guitar grabbed so much attention that in 2010, we acquired the rights to the Ouija name from Hasbro, and have since done several limited-edition versions of the Ouija guitar that have all immediately become some of the fastest-selling instruments in ESP’s history."

500 each of the Red Sparkle and Purple Sparkle finish models of the LTD KH Sparkle Ouija are being made available worldwide. Like previous LTD KH Ouija models, this guitar will be popular both with serious guitar-playing Metallica fans and guitar collectors alike. The LTD KH Sparkle Ouija offers neck-thru-body construction, using a three-piece extra-thin U-shaped maple neck with a natural gloss back, a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets and star and moon inlays. Components on the guitar include a Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge, LTD tuners, and a set of Kirk’s signature EMG KH Bone Breaker active pickups. Additionally, the guitar includes a special ESP Ouija case and a Certificate of Authenticity from the company.

The ESP KH-2 Sparkle Ouija will be handcrafted at the ESP Custom Shop in Japan. Only 30 guitars in each of the Red Sparkle and Purple Sparkle finishes will be created, making them an immediately valuable collector’s item. The ESP KH-2 Sparkle Ouija also features neck-thru-body construction, with a three-piece maple neck and alder body wings. This guitar features the full Ouija graphics that even overlay the covers of its signature EMG KH Bone Breaker active pickups. Its Macassar ebony fingerboard has extra-jumbo frets and is scalloped from frets 17-24, and it features high-end components including Gotoh tuners and an Original Floyd Rose bridge. Like the LTD version, the ESP KH-2 Sparkle Ouija comes with a special ESP Ouija case and a Certificate of Authenticity.

The LTD KH Sparkle Ouija is now available from ESP dealers across the USA and around the world. The ESP KH-2 Sparkle Ouija will be available in 2020, though the company advises interested people to talk to their dealer soon to reserve one.
