Download Festival Set To Honour Jim Marshall At This Years Festival | Guitar Interactive Magazine

Download Festival organiser Andy Copping has announced that thefestival will be paying tribute to Marshall Amps founder JimMarshall this year.

In a move that will see the event rename it's main stage for oneyear only, Copping tweeted: "The main stage at Download thisyear is going to be named The Jim Marshall Stage as a tribute tothe great wall of speakers & amps man." 

Andy also went on to say: "The music industry lost an innovatorand a legend with the sad passing of Jim Marshall. We had toremember him in some way and having the main stage dedicated to hisname seemed the perfect tribute." 

With only eight weeks to go until Download Festival 2012 opensits gates, organisers have confirmed another 19 acts who'll appearacross the weekend of 8, 9 and 10 June at Donington Park, CastleDonington.
