Devo are to offer fans of their early experimental sound a 'once-in-a-lifetime opportunity' this coming summer as the band outline plans to perform their earliest material (circa 1974 - 1977) live.
The 10-date run, which has been billed as 'Hardcore Devo', will be dedicated to the memory of the late Robert 'Bob 2' Casale, sho died unexpectedly last month of heart failure. Casale's family are set to receive a portion of the tour proceeds.
The string of dates will open in Baltimore on June 18 and run until the July 2 finishing up in Austin, Texas. Along the way taking in venues in New York, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Vancouver, B.C., Oakland, Calif., Los Angeles and Solana Beach, Calif.
Devo plan to release VIP tickets for the 'Hardcore Devo' tour, that will allow fans to meet the band and “exclusively view/ purchase rare, limited edition photo prints by noted photographers shot during the band’s pre-label days.”
The music that will be performed on the upcoming tour features on the recent Hardcore reissues.
