Dean Markley announces the addition of Jazz guitarist and USC instructor Bruce Forman to their artist roster. As a seasoned jazz player, Dean Markley USA looks to Bruce to help further expand the company’s market share and help raise Bruce’s visibility in the world of guitar and entertainment.

Bruce Forman has been an important part of the international jazz scene for more than three decades. He has been featured as leader as well as sideman at many of the most prestigious festivals and concert venues throughout the world. His numerous recording and performing credits include the likes of Bobby Hutcherson, Ray Brown, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Barney Kessel, Roger Kellaway, Richie Cole, and countless others. His guitar work is featured throughout Clint Eastwood's Academy Award winning film, Million Dollar Baby, Oscar-nominated Flags of Our Fathers, and Hereafter. Forman is also a distinguished music educator, leading workshops and master classes throughout the world.

Bruce is currently using Dean Markley’s Helix line. With over a year of research and development, Helix strings use a precise elliptical shape for the winding wire. The shape then has to be paired with the correct winding process. The hyper-elliptical winding process results in an increased number of wraps along the length of the string. This increases the mass of the string without changing its diameter or material. More mass makes a fuller tone; more windings give a smoother feel as well as a brighter, more resonant tone.  Additional benefits of the hyper-elliptical windings are a relaxed feel and less unwanted noise. The strings are designed to last much longer without sacrificing tone and performance.
