Bruce Springsteen set to Receive MusicCares' Person of the Year'Award -

MusicCares haveawarded Bruce Springsteen with their Persons of the Year 2013accolade for 2013, reports UltimateClassicRock

The annual event will take place on Feb.8 2013 two days prior tothe 55th Annual Grammy Awards.

"Bruce Springsteen is a truly gifted and Renaissance artist of ourtime, a national treasure, and an exemplary humanitarian," saidPresident/CEO of the MusiCares Foundation, Neil Portnow. "Hiscareer is a testament to the power of creative excellence, and hiscontributions as a philanthropist speak to the tenacity of thehuman spirit. We are privileged and honoured to pay tribute toBruce this year as our MusiCares Person of the Year."

Next year will also mark the 40th anniversary of Bruce's debut LP,'Greetings From Asbury Park.'
