Billy Gibbons to Reunite with The Moving Sidewalks-
ZZ Top legend Billy Gibbons is to reunite with60's psych rock outfit The MovingSidewalks for a one off show, reports Ultimate Classic Rock (via Gibson)
The recently announced reunion show is in support of forthcomingcareer retrospective 'Moving Sidewalks: The CompleteCollection.'
The show will see Billy joining his original band matesDon Summers (bass), Dan Mitchell(drums) and Tom Moore (keyboard) at the B.B King Blues Club &Grill in New York City on 30th March.
The Houston-based band were founded by Gibbons in the mid-60'sand opened for both The Doors and Jimi Hendrix.However the band only ever released the one full album, 1968's'Flash' and disbanded a year later after bothDon Summers and Tom Moore weredrafted into the US Military.
Soon after Summers and Moore left the 'Sidewalks,' Gibbons wenton to form the very first incarnation of ZZ Topwith Dan Mitchell and keyboardist LainerGrieg. Although by early 1970 both Mitchell and Greigparted ways with Gibbons, and Frank Beard andDusty Hill replaced them.
