One of the most anticipated reunions in music history is welland truly underway as the Beach Boys unveil a clip of their brandnew single, their first in over two decades.
The surf-rock legends have reunited for a world tour to celebratetheir 50th anniversary this summer, with founding members BrianWilson, Mike Love & Al Jardine all taking part.
The new track is entitled 'That's Why God Made the Radio' and willfeature on their comeback album, which is due in June.
"It's a sentimental thing for me," says Brian Wilson in the clipwhich you can watch below. "We've been together 50 years - that's along time." Mike Love adds: "Conceptually, the album is not goingto be anything outlandish or silly, like 'Smiley Smile'. It will belike the Beach Boys circa '65. I'm trying to write lyrics that fitthe music without making it sound like you're writing from ahospice."
Speaking with Billboard, Brian Johnston said: "There's a lot ofwhat you'd hope to hear from Brian [Wilson] on there. It's not aquilt or a pot luck dinner, it's not like, 'OK, everybody show upwith your songs.' It's not one of those kind of albums."
The tour starts tonight in Tucson, Arizona and hits the NewOrleans Jazz Fest this weekend.
