Coinciding with Paul Brett’s vintage guitar exhibition, Wednesday 1st April will see Tennants Auctioneers host a unique charity guitar concert in aid of Future Talent.
Starring such luminaries of the guitar world as Gareth Pearson, Raymond Burley John Etheridge, Gordon Giltrap and featuring special guest appearance from Michele Breeze, (international star of the global hit musical Evita) the concert is set to be an evening of top-class entertainment for all music lovers.
Held at Tennants Fine Auctioneers new £8 million Exhibition Centre in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, and hosted by Vintage Guitar expert and collector Paul Brett himself, the concert is hoped to raise funds for Future Talent - a charitable organisation founded by Katharine Kent (The Duchess of Kent) and Nicholas Robinson in 2004 dedicated to providing financial support and guidance to young musicians aged between 5 and 18, who demonstrate outstanding musical ability, but for whatever reason do not have the financial means to achieve their goal. Chairman Nicholas Robinson and Chief Executive Craig Titley will be in attendance on the evening.
John Hornby Skewes and Co. Ltd. will be donating a selection of signature guitars for an auction during the evening, including Paul Brett and Gordon Giltrap Signature models from their best selling Vintage® guitar range, John Etheridge and Gordon Giltrap Fret-King Black Label electric artist models, and a Santos Martinez SM2000RB Raymond Burley signature guitar.
The concert will also be a great opportunity for guitar enthusiasts to visit and view for themselves some of the most iconic vintage guitars in the world that Paul has collected over many years, and have a great day out too. Instruments from the mid 1700's to the present day will be on display, alongside audio/visual presentations and quickfire video clips of many of the guitars on view. The collection is heavily acoustic weighted, but there will also be electric guitars from the early rock n roll/blues/jazz eras.
The exhibition itself will commence from April 1st and run through till the end of May 2015. On the 20th June 2015, an auction will be held at Tennants which will include many of the guitars in the Paul Brett Collection which will give collectors and players alike, the chance to bid for an own one of these historical guitars. For information and to register for an auction catalogue contact www.tennants.co.uk The auction will also be on line worldwide.
