(PRESS RELEASE): Albion Amplification is now 100% owned by Steve Grindrod.
Steve stated, “IAG Group have proved positive partners over the past seven years but I want to develop the brand independently. New production will be situated in the Ningbo area with a newly formed, time-served highly competitive production facility. New designs will be released in Shanghai in October, but in the meantime I have made a quantity of fast-moving Albion amps to take us through until September.
Sales Director Andrew Bishop commented, “The name Steve Grindrod is only just becoming known by the majority of guitarists. Steve was hidden behind the hierarchy of Marshall and Vox even though he devoted over 40 years of his life to their success. It is interesting to see that Marshall’s NAMM ‘showstopper’ is a reissue of a Grindrod design completed over 30 years ago! The five-page article “Meet Your Maker" (in Guitar Player Feb 2015 issue) is beginning to reveal the story behind the man that put the Rock (the amp) into Rock and Roll as, without a reliable great-sounding Grindrod tube amp, where would all the modelling amps copy tone?
