The Replacements to Reunite for Handful of Dates

The Replacements to Reunite for Handful of Dates -

The Replacements have announced plans to reunite for a trio of reunion shows.

The US punk outift will perform the dates in August and September of this year, some 20 years after they first disbanded.

The newly planned reunion shows come after frontman Paul Westerberg and bassist Tommy Stinson, brother of founding guitarist Bob who died in 1995, recorded an EP in order to raise funds for guitarist Slim Dunlap, who last year suffered a severe stroke.

Both Westerberg and Stinson are scheduled to appear at the Riot Fest shows in Toronto (Aug.25), Chicago (Sept.15) and Denver (Sept.22). However it still not know whether drummer Chris Mars will be performing nor who will play lead.

The band's final appearance on stage was at Chicago's Grant Park in back in July 1991.
