Steve Vai Releases Volume VI & VII of the 'Naked Track' Series

Steve Vai Releases Volume VI & VII of the 'Naked Tracks' Series -

The next two instalments of Steve Vai's 'Naked Tracks' series, Volume VI and VII are now available at

The 'Naked Tracks' series have been designed with musicians in mind who crave playing guitar, but don't yet have the band to back them up.

Aspiring and accomplished guitarists can jam freely over the solo less lead guitar tracks from a number of classic Steve Vai albums.

Volume VI features selections from 'Where The Wild Things Are,' 'Sound Theories,' and a handful of VaiTunes releases. Volume VII  features all tracks from Steve's latest solo release, 'The Story of Light.'

"This series of play-along CD's is designed to help create an atmosphere of focus so you can shred yourself into a personally-induced inspirational nirvana," explains Vai.

"One way to play along with them is to learn the original guitar parts on the album versions of the songs," he said. "But I would encourage you to take a more-active role in using the tracks as a bed to lay your own creative interpretation over. There are really no rules. So sit back, flip on a naked track and dress it up with your own artistic musical apparel."

To coincide with the new 'Naked Tracks' releases, Steve has released a free track which is available on for download. Simply click the button, retweet the message to your loyal followers, and receive a download.
