Nine Inch Nails' Bassist Eric Avery Leaves Band -
Nine Inch Nails bassist Eric Avery has quit the Trent Reznor led industrial rockers.
Avery, who was also a founding member of Jane's Addiction,
revealed via his Facebook page the
reason for quitting prior to their upcoming tour, saying:
"I really want to focus on my musical life here in L.A., on film work in particular."
However Avery admits that he's not sure if he's made the right decision:
"It's been a tough call - and I don't know if it's the right one. But I really want to focus on my musical life here in Los Angeles, on film work in particular. As the tour dates kept growing I just got overwhelmed."
Avery had also just returned from a year out on the road with newly reunited Garbage, and says he wasn't happy with the concept of spending 18 months on the road with his former NIN cohorts.
"Fortunately my friend Trent understands all this, and appreciated my pulling the plug now instead of deep into 2013 and 14."
Nine Inch Nails' next show will take place on July 26th at the Fuji Rock Festival in Naeba, Japan.
