Guns N' Roses Guitarist 'Optimistic' of New Material -
Guns N' Roses guitarist and Guitar Interactive's Issue 17 cover star, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal has revealed he is eager to record and release new material with the band.
GNR's most recent studio offering 'Chinese Democracy' took 14 years to record and was eventually released in 2008 after nearly a decade of Axl Rose promising to release the record, even with the original line up dissolving around him.
However Thal, who completes the new line up along with Rose, Richard Fortus, Dizzy Reed, Tommy Stinson, Chris Pitman, Frank Ferrer and DJ Ashba, is optimistic there will be new material.
He told Rolling Stone (via Hennemusic),
"We're still doing shows, and I think once we clear our
schedule and focus more on new music, it'll happen. We just have
little things on the back burner, just waiting for the right time
for us to organize and make something new out of it. Hopefully we
can make more music - that's what it's about."
"It's what the fans want, too. They want new music, and we
can do it. It's not that we're done. I'm not ready for that. We
need to keep making music. We have a great band that's ready to do
it and can do it well."
"Let's keep our fingers crossed that life will not get in the
way and we can get this last batch of shows done. Looking forward
to it, but I'm also looking forward to having the main priority of
our Guns time be making new music."
The latest Issue of Guitar Interactive Magazine (#17) featuring Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Tom Monda, Marty Friedman & Richard Thompson along with our usual dose of exclusive features plus guitar and gear reviews is now available.
