Meat Puppets Stream New Track

Meat Puppets Stream New Track -

Stoner-rock veterans the Meat Puppets are scheduled to release their 14th full-length studio album in April.

However fans of the Kirkwood brothers can now stream the first track from the forthcoming 12-track release, entitled 'Rat Farm,' below.

The album will be the Phoenix outfit's fourth outing since welcoming bassist and founder Cris Kirkwood back into the in 2007.

Curt Kirkwood, the band's singer/guitarist described the album as "real blown-up folk music".

He elaborated:

"I tried to write stuff that would stand on its own - just the chords and the melodies, and play it kind of straight... I think that was the guiding boundary that I gave myself. It was one of those things where a lot of times, in the past especially, [bassist Cris Kirkwood] would go, 'Well, that's all there is? Let's put a prog rock part in the middle.' But I tried to hold it off as much as I could."

'Rat Farm' will be released on 16th April in the UK and 17th in the US through Megaforce Records.
