Montreal-based Godin Guitars launch the Montreal
Godin's new Montreal Premiere thin-line, semi-hollow bodied electric guitar, is constructed from some of the finest tonewoods available, reflecting Robert Godin's passion for wood, and the ability to produce some of the finest electric and acoustic guitars on the planet.
Where a lot of companies buy wood that's 'available,' as Canada's biggest guitar producing company, Godin can literally hand pick lumber from their own back yard.
Montreal Premiere: Construction
In keeping with Godin's reputation of innovative designs with electric and acoustic guitars, Canadian wild cherry, is the tonewood choice for the Montreal Premiere's double bound body construction, with a 'breathe-through' carved spruce core.
This unique design is the Montreal Premiere's sonic heart and soul, promoting free airflow through the centre block, which in turn, delivers an astounding resonance unlike any other guitar in its class.
With a six a side headstock, mahogany set neck and silky smooth, 22 fret, dot inlaid rosewood fingerboard, this superb electric thin-line maintains Godins reputation for producing acoustic and electric guitars with extremely comfortable neck profiles and supreme playability.
Electrics and Hardware
A pair of Godin Custom Wound humbuckers, are ideally suited to voice the Montreal Premiere's natural woody tone, excellent resonance and sustain, enhanced further by Graphtech's ResoMax bridge system. Controls include 3-way toggle switch and single volume and tone.
Over two years in the making, with superior build, exotic tone woods and the breathe-through core, the Montreal Premiere is ideally suited for jazz, pop, blues/rock and all the crossovers in between.
