Status Quo's 'Frantic Four' Announce UK Reunion Dates
The original four man Status Quo line-up are to tour the UK for the first time in over 30 years, reports Classic Rock Magazine.
All four founding members, vocalist/guitarists Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, bassist/vocalist Alan Lancaster and drummer John Coghlan will take the stage together to play six UK dates next March.
This celebrated version of the band - also known by many as the
'Frantic Four' - play Glasgow Academy March 10, Manchester Apollo
12, Wolverhampton Civic Hall 13 and London Hammersmith Apollo
Status Quo's legions of fans from around the globe have been lobbying for the return of Lancaster and Coghlan ever since the bassist, Rossi and Parfitt called a truce two years ago. Their well documented in house conflicts had begun in the mid 1980s after founding member, Lancaster launched a legal battle after being replaced by John 'Rhino' Edwards.
Asked why they were getting back together now, Rossi replied:
"It's for many, many reasons, including the fact that we're talking to Alan Lancaster again. And if we don't do it now, it might never happen. Come on, we're old men."
The Frantic Four's recent revival does not affect the previously announced festive 10-date UK tour with Quo's current line-up.
Tickets are £50/£42.50 for London and £48.50/£38.50 for the other dates, and go on general sale at 9am on Friday, November 16.
