New 'Psychedelic Pill' Artwork Unveiled -
Neil Young has had a last minute change of
heart with regards to the artwork for his new album with long time
collaborators, Crazy Horse.
The new artwork for 'Psychedelic Pill' features just that, an oversized pill with the words 'Neil Young Crazy Horse' carved into it along with Crazy Horse's logo of a silhouetted Native American riding a horse.
According to a press release, the new design has,
"taken on a stronger, more direct image to reflect the commanding and expansive music heard on the two CD or three vinyl disc sets."
'Psychedelic Pill' is a two-CD
featuring nine songs. In true Young fashion three of the nine its
tracks are over 16 minutes long, with the opener, 'Driftin'
Back' lasting a mammoth 27:36. A triple-LP edition of the
album will be available Nov. 23.
'Psychedelic Pill' will be Neil Young's second album to be released this year. 'Americana,' which is his take on a number of traditional American folk songs, was released in June.
