Deep Purple have been confirmed to play at Germany's Wacken Open Air Festival in 2013.
Though the world is still mourning the death of Jon Lord, the music he helped to create continues to reverbarate in venues across the globe. It's been 7 years since the band released their last album of new material but Deep Purple's current line-up made up of original member Ian Paice, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Steve Morse and keyboardist Don Airey, who replaced Lord in 2002, have been booked to play at next year's Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany.
As the 2012 Wacken Open Air drew to a close, organizers released details on some of the confirmed artists for 2013, including the first-ever appearance by Deep Purple. Also confirmed at next year's event are Anthrax, Nightwish, Arch Enemy and Doro. You can watch the trailer below.
