The new album from cult-metal duo Tenacious D, 'Rize of theFenix' is released on May 15th and the pair have released amock-information film on behalf of the Tinnitus Institute topromote the album.
The 'D', which is made up of Jack Black & Kyle Gass, haveenlisted the help of comedian Bob Odenkirk, also known as SaulGoodman on AMC's Breaking Bad, and bass legend Rudy Sarzo(Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne), to star in the promo video whichmwhilst funny also does a good job in promoting the seriousness ofthe condition.
"This is for real," said Odenkirk. "When Jack gave me an earlyversion of Rize of the Fenix I couldn't stop blasting it. Icouldn't play it loud enough or often enough, and every night for aweek, I went to bed with the sweet sounds of tinnitus ringingmerrily in my ears, and yet, the next day I couldn't help crankingit again. I don't know if there is a Tinnitus Institute or not, butI predict there will be. Blame it on Rize."
The clip features snippets of the new album throughout as DoctorBill Teetz (Odenkirk) attempts to test the effects of severetinnitus on an aging roadie (Sarzo) and two young metallers. Seebelow for the video which features on Rolling Stone's website.
