Whether you're looking to buy your child's first musical instrument, or one to move them to the next level with their music, Take it away may be able to help make it more affordable for you to get them the instrument of their dreams.

Arts Council England's Take it away scheme has been set up to make musical instruments more accessible to children and young people. It works by letting you spread the cost of buying a musical instrument with an interest free loan of between £100 and £2,000 over 9 months (with a 10% deposit). Some retailers also offer longer repayment terms on higher value instruments up to £5,000.

Take it away can be used to buy any kind of instrument - from accordions to xylophones, and the hundreds of other instruments in between. Since 2007, the scheme has helped over 60,000 people to buy their chosen instrument!

Take it away is open to adults buying instruments for children under 18, as well as 18-25 year olds who can apply in their own right. The scheme is available in over 320 music shops across England.

For more information and to search the list of participating stores go to www.takeitaway.org.uk or telephone 0845 300 6200
