SXSW Creative Director Brent Grulke Dies Aged 54 -

It has been reported that SXSW's creativedirector, Brent Grulkle has passed away.

Grulke, who has worked with festival since 1987 and went on tobecome Creative Director in '94, suffered a cardiac arrestfollowing oral surgery, he was just 54 years old.

SXSW released the following statement:

"A lot of Brent's personality was in SXSW. He wasadventurous and knowledgeable and excited about creative people andendeavours. He didn't like the usual and mundane. He wasopen-minded enough to know that his taste wasn't always the mostimportant thing, so he was open to new things."
