Schertler's Magnetico Brings a New Sound toMusikmesse -

Frankfurt launch for Swiss manufacturer's revolutionary newmagnetic pickup series.

At this year's Frankfurt Musikmesse, Swiss manufacturer Schertler introducesMagnetico, a revolutionary new magnetic pickup series for frettedinstruments. Based on a completely different concept from standardsingle coil or humbucker pickups, Magnetico uniquely combineshigh-end Schertler electronics with active multiple coiltechnology. The result is a pickup with fast transient behaviour, incredibly flat frequency response and a transparent rich soundacross the full range of the instrument.

The Magnetico range includes the A-Series models for use withacoustic guitars/banjos/mandolins and the E-Series models forelectric guitars and basses. The R-Series is designed for replacingexisting standard single coil or humbucker systems on specifiedguitar brands including Fender and Gibson. The S-Series is a custompickup for build-in applications.

Frankfurt sees the immediate release of the A-Series AG6 foracoustic guitar, a compact pickup that fits inside the guitar'ssound hole. It is equipped with volume control and external input(also with separate volume control) for connecting a second pickup. This enables sound from both pickups to be blended, creating theperfect result for each individual performance or recording. TheAG6 system is designed for maximum flexibility and is availablewith either an internal Jack cable for fixed installation on theinstrument, or an external Jack cable. Two new microphones willalso be available for use with the AG6; an electrodynamic movingcoil contact microphone and an external condenser mic. Thesevarious options offer guitarists a choice of six different packagesto suit a range of requirements. Magnetico E-Series pickups willalso be previewed at the show.

"Magnetico offers a new sound in the magnetic pickuppanorama," says Drago Dujak, Schertler's International SalesManager.

"The series differs from our other pickup ranges bycombining a new technological approach with specially developedelectronics. The sound really has to be heard to be believed and weare very excited about introducing the various Magnetico modelsinto the market."

A full range of Schertler contact microphones and acousticamplifiers will also be on show including the recently released,single-channel, compact GIULIA, latest addition to Schertler'sClassic amplifier series.
