(PRESS RELEASE): Swiss manufacturer Schertler introduces latest amplifier, desktop audio and contact microphone developments at this year's Musikmesse.

Heralding the next generation of Schertler amplifier technology, GIULIA Y is a new 2-channel, ultra-compact acoustic amplifier that offers 50W of bi-amplified power. Featuring enhanced circuitry and a new “look”, it retains many features from its smaller single-channel sibling GIULIA. GIULIA Y accommodates both XLR and 1/4” Jack connectors, making it compatible with a wide range of microphones including Schertler’s DYN and STAT series, or the BASIK pickup. The inputs can also be used for guitars or other high level line sources, with the amplifier’s intelligent electronics automatically adapting to suit. Equipped with Phantom power (48V and 10V), 3-band EQ on each channel and a digital reverb, GIULIA Y is perfect for small venues, home studios or for practice.

HammerSchertler’s HAMMER stereophonic sound system is a new concept in desktop audio that offers a high-quality listening experience while working at your computer. Specially developed for desktop audio reproduction, HAMMER includes two mid-high range horizontally positioned speakers that provide a well-defined stereo image and optimal diffusion when the listener is sitting at the computer. These are combined with a vertical woofer for low frequency reproduction, which is positioned on the bottom of the base section, using the desk to enhance its efficiency. Equipped with analogue amplifier modules for the highest fidelity sound and crossover circuits that are perfectly tuned to achieve the best possible electro-acoustic results, HAMMER also features a contemporary design and stylish housing that will complement most workspaces.

Schertler’s recently released DYN P48 Series of contact microphones also makes a Musikmesse debut. The series is a re-engineered collection of fully balanced, active, dynamic models with Class A electronics. Featuring a sleek, lightweight design, all DYN P48 contact microphones incorporate state-of-the-art, in-house developed active filtering technology that has enabled each model to be precisely matched to the sound characteristics of its intended instrument. This produces more “immediate” results, with only minimal adjustment required.

Schertler’s universal BASiK contact microphone series has also been expanded with the release of BASiK-MULTIMEDIA. The BASiK microphone is packaged with a multimedia adapter that enables direct connection to a range of mobile devices. Used together with compatible audio recording apps, it offers a practical way of recording instruments on the move, or at home, making it ideal for a variety of projects.
