QSC Audio Launches Player-Inspired K for MusiciansWebsite -

QSC Audio Products announces thepremiere of a new website for inspired guitarists, keyboardists, drummers and other musicians - who are increasingly becoming awarethat the K Family of loudspeakers (K Series, KW Series) can exceedtheir expectations as a musical instrument amplifier or foldbackmonitor.

The musicians themselves were the genesis for the creation ofKforMusicians.com, leading the way via online forum discussionstouting the company's active loudspeakers as the perfect solutionfor accurate sound reproduction of digital sources in a liveapplication.

The  K for Musicians website, available in English andSpanish, offers multiple examples of how K Family loudspeakers canbe used for musical instrument reproduction in common, liveperformance applications. There are distinct and separate areas forElectric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboards,Electronic Drums and Acoustic Drums - as well as compelling K forMusicians artist profiles, photos and interviews. Theconstantly-growing list of featured artists in the variouscategories include such notables as Dweezil Zappa, Tony Levin,Jonathan Cain, Salo Loyo, David Mathews, Omar Hakim, Dave Weckl, and many others. And in each case, the common sentiment heard overand over is that the K Family allows musicians to be moreexpressive, add nuance and greater dynamics, and produce morecreative and inspired live performances.

Keyboard and electronic drum players have long-known that the KFamily offers near-field monitor-like accuracy in the reproductionof their instruments' on-board sounds, but with the added benefitof ample output to meet the demanding requirements of liveperformance in a variety of settings. With the ever-increasingutilization of amplifier modeling, modern guitarists have also cometo recognize a similar need.

"We are quite impressed with the number of guitarists notonly using our products as amplifiers, but passionately endorsingthem on the many guitar forums as well," states Ray van Straten,QSC Director of Marketing Communications. "So many electric andbass guitarists are now utilizing technology to recreatetraditional amplifier sounds, whether it is from something like aFractal Axe, a POD, a pedal, an iPad or even a laptop computer. Acommon instrument amplifier is going to wreak havoc on that soundas it's already a complete signal. K Family loudspeakers letmusicians play with all the expression and nuance they enjoy in thestudio, and because each loudspeaker is outfitted with a 1000 wattpower module, they also provide the energy and presence found onthe most powerful stage amplifiers."

When utilized in this application, K Family loudspeakers alsooffer distinct advantages over traditional amplifiers in terms ofconnectivity and flexibility. As all the K Series products have twomixable inputs, a musician can have, for example, his or herinstrument in the first input and a monitor mix in the secondinput, while controlling the balance between the two. And withparallel outputs, musicians can connect directly to the loudspeakerwhile at the same time sending a direct output to the house - nodirect box needed. Also of value when the stage performance ismixed from a house position, the K10, K12 and KW122 can be utilizedin a stage monitor position, facing the musician, while providinggreater stage-volume control to the house engineer. Pairing twoloudspeakers offers musicians true stereo imaging at theirperformance position.

"Our core design philosophy of offering sound reinforcementcustomers a very neutral sonic palette works extraordinarily wellin all kinds of musical applications," adds van Straten. "As a musician myself, I really appreciate the ability to focusmy energy on my performance - not wrestling with the gear in searchof the true expression of my sound. That's what K for Musicians isall about."
