New PRS DGT & Left Custom On The Way To The UK

Two exciting new models from PRS will be arriving in the UKshortly - a new version of the much-loved DGT Dave Grissom modeland a left-handed incarnation of the legendary Custom 24.

The DGT has always been a hugely popular fixture in the PRSline-up, and Mr Grissom's new DGT Standard takes the features ofthe original and blends with the sonic character of an all mahoganyguitar. So that means a carved mahogany body, 25″ scale length/22fret mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, jumbo frets, mooninlays (with birds as an option), locking faux bone tuners and PRStrem. Pickups are a pair of DGT humbuckers, each with a volumecontrol, push/pull tone control and 3-way selector.

There's a great choice of opaque and translucent colours wherethe SGT Standard is concerned too - Faded Cherry, McCarty TobaccoSunburst, Natural, Antique White, Black, Seafoam Green, Frost BlueMetallic, Green Burst and Powder Blue.

Tonally, the DGT Standard has a more focussed mid-range withwhat Grissom describes as "a nice chime and growl as well". It's sstorming guitar, and one that will only be available for a limitedperiod, so talk to your local PRS US dealer ASAP!

Alongside the new DGT, PRS have also released a limited run of"Lefty" Custom 24 guitars. A perennial favourite, the CU24 is ofcourse the guitar that Paul Smith took to his first trade show in1985.

The left-handed version sticks to the popular format of mapletop, mahogany back, mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard with "oldschool" abalone birds inlays. The excellent 59/09 humbuckers makean appearance here, with new contoured bobbins that arc with thestrings for a more open tone - these are controlled with a 5-wayblade switch that now allows both humbuckers to be selected at thesame time. There's a load of gorgeous finish options, from AmberBlack to Eriza Verde, McCarty Sunburst to Purple Hazel - and 10 Topflame and quilt tops, nickel, gold or hybrid hardware are alsoavailable…

All in all, an irresistible package for left-handers!
