Ministry Guitarist Mike Scaccia Dies After CollapsingOnstage -

Ministry and former RigorMortis guitarist Mike Scaccia hasdied after collapsing onstage during a performance onSaturday (22nd December) night in Texas.

The 47 year old metal guitarist, who was also an accomplishedblues and country musician, was performing as part of a 50thbirthday concert for Rigor Mortis frontmanBruce Corbitt at the Rail Club in Fort Worth.

Scaccia's bandmate, Al Jourgensen, Ministry'slead singer, confirmed the news via Facebook yesterday,

"I just lost my lil' brother and my best friend… Mikey wasnot only the best guitar player in the history of music, but he wasa close, close, close part of our family - and I just lost a hugechunk of my heart today. Our lives are forever changed. Lifewithout Mikey is like orange juice without pulp - kind of bland. Ihave no words to express what this guy meant to me, my family, mycareer....everything!

He added:

"Rest in peace my brother, my friend, my heart. Please prayfor Mike Scaccia and Jenny, his wife and their children, and hisfamily."

The Fort Worth StarTelegram reports (via NME) that Scacciadied of a sudden heart attack brought on by a heart disease.
