Jimi Hendrix Experience Purple Box Set Reissue Details -

The newly-expanded edition of The Jimi Hendrix Experience Purple box-set will be re-released on August 20th (this month).

First released at the turn of the millennium the expanded reissue will of course feature the box set’s original track list plus four additional cuts taking the number of songs featured on the four disc set to 60.

Sequenced in chronological order the Purple Box set begins with the first known recordings of Jimi’s studio albums plus various live performances and ends with the Jimi’s famed multi-track recording session at New York’s Electric Lady Studios which turned out to be his last.

The box-set also includes an 80 page colour booklet with rare photos, essays and annotation by Dave Marsh and John McDermott, detailed track notes and more.
