GHS Strings’ new GHS Crossovers line of strings – designed to fit the NS Design CR and NXT series of electric upright basses – are now available. The new strings, which come in 4- and 5-string sets, fill a gap for the bass.

The string options for the NS Design upright bass are limited,” explains GHS Product Specialist, Jon Moody,

“You have two sets that are designed to fit the bass perfectly. While you have the option of using a traditional upright bass string set on the NS, the cost of those becomes prohibitive to many crossover players.”

The GHS Crossovers were designed in part with the staff at Gollihur Music and features a Nickel-Iron Alloy 52 wrap wound over a round core wire. It’s then micro-ground for a smooth feel similar to that of an upright bass string. GHS describes their sound as having a deep and focused fundamental with a clear high end.
