Def Leppard founding guitarist, Phil Collen, has announced plans to re-launch blues project Delta Deep.

Delta Deep features Collen on guitar and vocals, Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots on bass, drummer Forrest Robinson and the vocal prowess of Debbi Blackwell-Cook.

The band's self-titled debut will arrive on June 23 and will feature Collen's fellow Leppard bandmate, Joe Elliot plus Whitesnake's David Coverdale, Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook and Girl bassist Simon Laffy.

"Blues was created out of something completely different from what we hear today. I grew up listening to rock music but then I found it was all based on blues. Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimi Hendrix, all of those guyes...they got it from the blues".

Delta Deep's self-titled debut album will be available as of June 23, 2015.
